What this notice covers.
This notice covers the Semaphor Systems website, including the sales contact form. It does not describe how the Semaphor product handles camera footage at a customer site; for that, see security and privacy in the product, or read what Semaphor is for an overview.
What the sales form collects.
When you submit the form on our contact page, we store:
- The email address and/or phone number you enter. Either one is enough; we do not ask for your name, company or anything else.
- The time the request was received.
- A random request identifier generated by your browser, used only so that a repeated click does not create a duplicate request.
- A keyed hash of your IP address, used for rate limiting (explained below).
The form also contains a hidden field that people never see. It exists to catch automated spam; if it is filled in, the request is rejected.
Why we collect it.
We use your contact details for one purpose: to respond to your inquiry, usually to book a live demo or discuss a pilot. We do not sell your details, add you to a mailing list without asking, or share them with advertisers.
When email delivery is enabled, we use Resend to send your request to our sales inbox in Gmail. If you provide an email address, we also send you an automatic acknowledgment. These services process the contact details included in those messages.
How long we keep it.
Requests in the website's sales inbox and email queue are kept for up to 90 days and then deleted automatically during normal operation. Access to the website inbox is restricted to our sales team behind a password. This automatic cleanup does not delete copies in email services or subsequent correspondence; you can request deletion using the contact details below.
Rate limiting and your IP address.
To stop the form from being flooded, we limit how many requests can be sent from the same connection in an hour. To do that without keeping your IP address, the server computes a keyed hash (an HMAC with a secret key held only on our server) of the IP address and stores that hash with your request. Your raw IP address is not saved with the request. The hash can only be used to recognize repeat submissions from the same address; it is deleted together with the request.
Like any website, our hosting infrastructure necessarily processes your IP address in order to deliver pages to you.
Cookies and analytics.
As built, this site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. The only script that sends data anywhere is the contact form, and only when you press the button.
Demo footage.
The recorded demo on the home page uses public research footage from the MEVA dataset, published under the CC BY 4.0 license. No customer footage is shown or collected on this website.
What this site never accesses.
This website does not request access to your screen, cameras or microphone. Screen capture is part of the Semaphor product running on a monitoring station, set up with you during a pilot; it is never triggered by visiting this site.
Your requests.
If you want to know what we hold about you, correct it or have it deleted sooner than 90 days, reach us through the contact page using the same email address or phone number you submitted, and we will act on it. Questions about how our product handles data are answered in the FAQ.
